About the role

Perform and monitor various cardiac stress tests in collaboration with nuclear technologists while managing IVs and monitoring vital signs. Provide patient instructions on test preparation and mentor new team members to ensure quality care standards.

Specific duties

  • Direct patient care
  • Perform and monitor non-Pharmacologic, pharmacologic, and pet stress tests in collaboration with the nuclear technologist.
  • Required skills:
  • Iv management (Site selection, insertion, removal).
  • Recognition of ekg and rhythm abnormalities.
  • Ekg prep, recording, and preliminary interpretation; report abnormalities to provider.
  • Monitor/Document vital signs.
  • Identify and respond to adverse reactions under provider guidance.
  • Provide patient instructions on prep, diet, and medication holds 24–48 hours prior to testing.
  • Professional duties
  • Maintain current cpr/Bls/Acls certifications.
  • Participate in continuing education and maintain competency.
  • Attend team meetings and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Provide orientation, mentorship, and preceptorship to new team members.
  • Participate in community education or prevention programs as needed.
  • Deliver care consistent with current standards, protocols, and ethical guidelines.
  • Support the ct service line when needed and assist with staff training and education.

Qualifications

1. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

2. Current, unencumbered rn license in the resident state.

3. Minimum two (2) years critical care or similar experience required.

4. Bls and acls certifications required.

5. Successful completion of assigned ekg, stress testing, and cardiology courses within 12 months of hire.

6. Effective communication skills.

7. Preferred

Advanced certification in cardiology/Cardiovascular nursing.

Requirements

Requires a graduate of an accredited nursing school with a current RN license and at least two years of critical care experience. BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory, with advanced cardiology certification preferred.
