The Mammography Technologist performs mammographic, Dexa, and planar X-ray procedures while ensuring compliance with standards and guidelines. They are responsible for patient data management, quality assurance, and maintaining communication with site leadership.
1.
Performs mammographic, Dexa and planar Xray procedures on patients according to state, federal, professional and departmental standards and guidelines.
2.
Reviews each requisition/questionnaire and record prior to the exam to ensure all pertinent information is available.
3.
Performs examinations with a high standard of accuracy in positioning.
Select appropriate technical factors to ensure quality images.
4.
Assembles and reviews patient data, history, proper two patient identifiers.
5.
Verifies physician orders and ensures information for radiologist’s interpretation is available (outside images, reports etc.).
6.
Perform all computer functions properly to ensure proper patient charging and image interpretation.
7.
Performs patient charging and completes exam end procedures in and EPIC/Centricity PACS.
8.
Proper utilization of the PenRad system.
9.
Accurately and effectively performs QA, maintain required annual licensure/CME and responsible to assist in all aspect of tracking as per MQSA guidelines.
10.
Able to access, interpret, communicate and deliver age-appropriate care.
11.
Maintains open communication with site leadership.
12.
Contributes to the team and works cooperatively with peers.
13.
Demonstrates ability to multi-task and prioritize.
14.
Seeks pro-active solutions to address questions concerns.
15.
And any other task as appointed by management.
