Job description

Responsive recruiter Monday-Friday day hours; 8

00a-3:00p. We have an opening for a compassionate and dependable Direct Support Professional-CNA to support individuals with disabilities. In this role you will provide hands-on care, promote independence, and help create a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment.

Primary Objective of the Position

Provide a positive learning environment and experience for adults with developmental disabilities in order to assist them to increase and maintain skills, which enable them to gain independence in a variety of areas.

Major Areas of Accountability

Provide input and assistance in implementing formal and informal participant objectives.
Utilize lifting equipment to help transfer individuals to/from locations such as bathroom, wheelchair, etc.
Regularly assists participants with eating, mobility (including transferring) and other personal needs.
Provide supervision to participants throughout the day.
Provide positive, age-appropriate interaction opportunities for participants throughout the day.
Provide meaningful tasks and activities so that participants are engaged in functional activities.
Set up and carry through with tasks in ways that assist participants in increasing their independence.
Have a working knowledge of in-house jobs so that assistance can be provided to participants so they job can be completed correctly and quality is maintained.
Perform general clean up and maintenance of program and work areas.
Collect accurate program data on a daily basis.
Communicate with others regarding concerns and program progress of participants in such a way that respect and confidentiality are maintained.
Work cooperatively with other staff, agencies and family members in order to facilitate services provided.
Possible bus aiding on am and/or pm routes.
Accept work direction from the Training Specialist and supervision from the Program Supervisor
Other duties as assigned.

Compensation

$18.25 per hour
