• Here’s What You Need · High School Diploma or equivalent required · Associate Degree preferred · Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Lab Science or Chemical, Physical or Biological Science preferred · One-year experience in histopathology preferred · HT (ASCP) Histotechnician required within 6 months from hire · HTL (ASCP) Histotechnologist required within 6 months from hire What You Will Do · Follows laboratory procedure for specimen collection, handling, and processing. · Surgical pathology dissection assistance · Cuts and stains, thin quality frozen sections within 20 minutes of receipt to diagnosis · Embedding · Performs special stains · Evaluate stains · Gives proper notification when supplies need to be ordered Additional perks of being a Texas Health employee · Benefits include 401k, PTO, medical, dental, Paid Parental Leave, flex spending, tuition reimbursement, student loan repayment programs as well as several other benefits. · Delivery of high quality of patient care. · A supportive, team environment with outstanding opportunities for growth.
