The CVT provides direct patient care, including anesthesia monitoring, dental cleanings, and diagnostic testing. They are also responsible for client education and supporting the overall operational flow of the veterinary hospital.
Candidates must hold a current CVT, LVT, or RVT certification. One or more years of clinical experience is preferred, along with proficiency in anesthesia and dentistry.
Nonantum Veterinary Clinic in Landenberg, Pennsylvania (1 hour outside of Philadelphia) is the largest full-service general practice within the tri-state region. Located in a beautiful 8,000 sq ft facility, we see a large number of surgical and dental cases and are 100% companion animal focused. We have a close-knit, family oriented, experienced and cohesive team of doctors with visiting specialists including a cardiologist, radiologist, and orthopedic surgeon providing expanded services. The CVT is responsible for supporting doctors, patients, and clients through technical skill, medical knowledge, and excellent communication. This role includes direct patient care, anesthesia monitoring, laboratory and diagnostic testing, client education, and supporting the smooth flow of the hospital. This is a general overview of the role; responsibilities may shift based on the needs of the hospital. Key Responsibilities: Patient Care & Technical Skills Assist doctors with patient exams, treatments, and procedures Administer medications, injections, vaccines, and treatments as directed Place IV catheters and perform venipuncture Monitor and maintain accurate patient medical records Perform dental cleanings, radiographs, and oral health assessments Provide safe and effective anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery support Diagnostics & Laboratory Collect and process lab samples (blood, urine, fecal, cytology, etc.) Run and interpret in-house diagnostics (CBC, chemistry, urinalysis, etc.) Prepare and submit samples to reference laboratories Maintain lab equipment and ensure quality control Client Service & Communication Educate clients on preventive care, medications, and treatment plans Provide compassionate communication during challenging cases Support doctors in relaying medical updates to clients Ensure all interactions reflect professionalism, empathy, and excellent customer service Hospital Operations & Team Support Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety of hospital areas Assist with inventory and restocking of medical supplies Participate in continuing education and skill development Support a culture of teamwork, accountability, and servant leadership
Current certification/licensure as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, or RVT) 1+ year of experience in a clinical veterinary setting preferred Proficiency in anesthesia, dentistry, and patient nursing care Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure Passion for veterinary medicine and client service Why Join Nonantum?
