Dental Assistant: Key Responsibilities The Dental Assistant role promotes quality dental care for patients in a comfortable environment by assisting the Dentist, educating patients, maintaining equipment and inventory, and following all OSHA and MIOSHA requirements to ensure a safe environment for patients and team members.

Prepare patients and assist the doctor during treatment.

Take and develop x-rays along with diagnostic impressions.

Perform instrument sterilization and infection control.

Clean and stock operatory while maintaining inventory of clinical supplies.

Inventory control of laboratory cases.

Make clinical notes regarding patient treatment, update health histories, and collect consent forms when applicable.

Can maintain an outgoing, friendly attitude with patients, staff, and doctor even under pressure.

Can work with interruptions and manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.

Are able to work unsupervised while maintaining a professional demeanor.

Have experience with autoclave, suction, hand pieces, panorex, amalgamator, ultrasonic, air compressor, amalgam separator, vacuum pump, and hydrim.

Have knowledge and experience with Microsoft 360 (required) in addition to basic dental software programs, digital impression scanning and practice management platforms such as NexHealth and OverJet (preferred).

Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent. (Required) Knowledge of Microsoft 360 (Required) 2 years Dental experience preferred. CPR and first aid preferred. X-ray certified preferred. Responsibilities

Position Summary

A Dental Assistant performs a variety of dental assisting duties, within compliance of state regulations, to promote quality dental care for patients in a reduced stress, comfortable environment. A Dental Assistant assists the doctor, teaches patients how to care for their teeth, communicates effectively with patients, maintains equipment and inventory, and follows universal precautions and all OSHA and MIOSHA requirements to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. As part of the overall center(s) team the Dental Assistant will assist all other staff members as required and available with their duties. Typical

Clean and stock operatory. Control inventory of clinical supplies. Fabricate provisional restorations. Inventory control of laboratory cases. Make clinical notes regarding patient treatment. All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge of Dentistry. Ability to maintain professional demeanor at all times. Exceptional verbal and non-verbal communication skills. Knowledge of Microsoft 360 required. Prefer a knowledge and experience of basic dental software programs and digital impression scanning as well as practice management platforms such as NexHealth and OverJet. Radiology licensure. Experience with autoclave, suction, hand pieces, panorex, cephalometric, TMJ film, processor, plasma arc light, amalgamator, ultrasonic, vacuum form machine, air compressor, model trimmer, amalgam separator, vacuum pump, hydrim, statmatic. Job Specification High school graduate or equivalent. 2 years Dental experience preferred. CPR and first aid preferred. X-ray certified preferred.

Requirements

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, with 2 years of dental experience preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft 360 and CPR/first aid certification are required, while X-ray certification is preferred.
