About the Role

Minimum Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
• Current certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) or equivalent credential.
• Valid state licensure or certification as required by the state of practice.
• Demonstrated knowledge of radiation safety and handling of radioactive materials.
• Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and nuclear medicine imaging techniques.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist in a clinical or hospital setting.
• Certification in PET imaging or other advanced nuclear medicine modalities.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and digital imaging software.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in various healthcare environments.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients following established protocols and safety guidelines.
• Operate gamma cameras, PET scanners, and other nuclear medicine imaging equipment to capture diagnostic images.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions during and after radiopharmaceutical administration and provide appropriate care.
• Maintain accurate records of procedures, dosages, and patient information in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with physicians, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal imaging quality and diagnostic accuracy.
• Perform routine quality control and maintenance of nuclear medicine equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
• Adhere to radiation safety standards to protect patients, staff, and self from unnecessary exposure.
• Educate patients about the procedures, addressing any concerns and ensuring informed consent.
