Candidates should possess strong interpersonal skills and be reliable and detail-oriented. Certification as a Medical Assistant is preferred, and employment is contingent upon passing a background check and drug test.
Gila Health Resources, a multi-site Occupational Medicine provider, is seeking a Full-time Medical Assistant (or a Healthcare Tech) for its Silver City Occupational Medicine Clinic. This position takes vitals, rooms patients, scans, and performs tests/screenings, such as drug & alcohol, pulmonary function, hearing, and respirator fit testing. The successful candidate will have good interpersonal and patient skills, work well with a team, be detail-oriented, and be punctual and reliable.
Office hours are Monday through Friday, from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. The work shift is 9 hours with an hour lunch: 6 a.m. to 3 p.m., 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Because staff rotates schedules weekly, the successful candidate must be able to work these rotating shifts, and be available to share after-hours D&A Testing call duties with three other employees on a rotating basis. After-hours on-call duty and call-backs are compensated in addition to, and separately from regular hourly pay.
Certified Medical Assistants are preferred.

Employment is contingent on the successful completion of post-offer drug and alcohol test and a successful background check, followed by compliance with GHR’s random and for-cause employee drug and alcohol testing policy during employment.
