Collaboration

Collaborate closely with the surgical team, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the smooth flow of preoperative preparations.

Postoperative Duties

1. Recovery Care

• Provide postoperative care to patients in the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU), monitoring vital signs, pain levels, and overall well-being. 2.
• Patient
• Advocacy: Advocate for patients' comfort and safety, managing pain and addressing any immediate postoperative concerns. 3.

Assessment

• Continuously assess patients for signs of complications or adverse reactions, taking prompt action as needed. 4.
• Medication
• Management: Administer postoperative medications, including pain management and antiemetics, while closely monitoring their effects. 5.

Documentation

• Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records, documenting all care provided, observations, and patient responses. 6.
• Discharge
• Planning: Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patients are ready for discharge and providing discharge instructions.

Qualifications

Education: · Graduate of an accredited nursing program

Licensure/Certification: · BLS and ACLS Required

· Current RN license in the state of North Carolina.

Required Experience

· Previous experience in a preoperative and postoperative nursing role.

· Excellent Communication

Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare colleagues.

· Team Player

Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, adapting to a fast-paced surgical environment.
