Provide direct and indirect nursing care to patients, including administering infusion medications and monitoring for reactions. Responsibilities also include documenting care in Maestro Care, performing blood draws, and maintaining a safe clinical environment.
Requires a degree in nursing (BSN, Associate's, or Diploma) and a current RN license in North Carolina. BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory, with previous infusion care and Epic experience preferred.
Plan, provide and document professional nursing care utilizing Maestro Care. Document nursing care provided and communicate appropriate nursing action taken and patient response to infusion in accordance with physician orders, policies and therapy plans. Administer infusion medications to patients as ordered by providers or by established protocols following the six rights of medication administration. Assess patient throughout infusion and post monitoring for any signs/symptoms of infusion reaction and treat appropriately. Obtains IV access; Performs blood draws for labs as needed. Reviews patient therapy plan for present orders and valid authorization weekly Perform patient education when needed Stock and maintains inventory of patient care supplies. Mix and prepare infusion medications under protocol when pharmacy is unavailable/afterhours. Identifies clinical, operational and safety related performance improvement opportunities, make recommendations for nursing care plans and participates in performance improvement projects. Maintain clinical environment to meet JCAHO and OSHA regulations. Attends safety huddle, staff meetings and in-services. Other duties as delegated by nurse manager, provider, or health center administrator Job Eligibility Requirements: Work requires graduation from an accredited BSN or Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program.
