Provide clinical care, monitoring, and advocacy for patients within a Medical Surgical Oncology unit. Responsibilities include implementing nursing care plans, managing medical equipment, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient comfort and recovery.

You’ll clinically care for your patients- remaining focused and attentive as you continuously monitor your patients throughout your shift.

You also serve as their advocate- supporting their best interests when they cannot.

However, your sound judgment during an emergency and rapid response are impressive, putting you on the radar for advancement.

Assesses, plans, and implements nursing care while ensuring patient comfort Anticipates, identifies, and responds to informational and emotional needs of patients and families Guides and directs healthcare personnel (i.e., CNAs) in caring for patients Maintains knowledge of equipment setup, maintenance, and use (i.e., IV pumps, monitoring equipment, and drainage devices) Utilizes safeguards such as IV pump drug library and monitor alarms with necessary Initiates emergency support measures (i.e., cardiopulmonary resuscitation, protecting patient from injury) Assists with patient care duties/tasks (i.e., emptying drainage devices, ambulating, and hygiene) Medical Surgical Oncology CHI Health St.

Elizabeth is a 42 bed Med/Surg unit.

We care for diverse populations and diagnoses including Orthopedic, Trauma, Spine and Neuro surgery, Surgical and Medical Oncology, pulmonary, renal, GI, and cardiac care.

We have a rapidly growing oncology program and are committed to provide highly skilled care using the ONS curriculum and standards of practice.

In addition, we provide post-surgical care with a focus on pain management, early mobilization, and patient and family centered education promoting excellent outcomes.

Our care model emphasizes multidisciplinary teams for our patients including Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Dietary, Nutrition, Palliative Care, and innovative nursing models to include LPN, C.N.A and RN teams.

Compensation

  • Base rate + shift differential
  • Incentives: up to $15,000 sign on bonus, up to $10,000 education assistance (must have graduated within 5 years) Tuition Reimbursement - $5,525 for full time and $2,750 for part time Nurse Residency offered for all New Graduates - https://www.chihealth.com/education/professional-training/nurse-residency

Requirements
