Provide non-clinical, strengths-based peer support to individuals in behavioral health treatment using personal lived experience. Facilitate recovery groups and assist participants in developing individualized wellness plans and navigating community resources.
Must be a Registered Peer Recovery Specialist (RPRS) with the Virginia Board of Counseling and have at least one year of experience in the role. A high school diploma or GED and a valid driver's license are required.
We are looking for a Peer Recovery Specialist (PRS) to round out our team!
The Peer Recovery Specialist uses personal lived experience with mental health and/or substance use recovery to provide strengths-based, person-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally competent peer support to participants engaged in behavioral health treatment services. The PRS offers non-clinical support, models recovery, assists participants in setting goals, and helps them navigate systems of care and community resources.
This position follows a structured four-day, 10-hour schedule designed to support residential peer programming coverage Thursday–Sunday, 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. This schedule supports coverage of peer recovery groups, participant engagement activities, orientation groups, and interdisciplinary collaboration across residential program hours. Schedule adjustments may occasionally occur based on census needs, admissions flow, group coverage priorities, or program operations.
