The Surgical Tech manages instruments, supplies, and equipment during surgical procedures while maintaining a sterile field. They must anticipate the surgeon's needs to ensure high-quality patient care during operations.
Candidates must have a high school diploma and either a Surgical Technology program degree, CST certification, or 1+ years of OR experience. BLS certification is required within 14 days of hire.
The Surgical Tech handles instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. He/she understands the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.
