Provide high-quality, evidence-based care to a diverse patient population recovering from various surgeries and those undergoing medical substance abuse detoxification. Responsibilities include managing post-operative care, administering medications, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Requires an Associate's degree in nursing and 1-2 years of acute care experience as a Registered Nurse. Must hold a current Texas RN license and certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
Deliver safe, high-quality direct patient care to patients across a broad range of medical/surgical needs. Assess, plan, document, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for patients in collaboration with the interdisciplinary healthcare team. Monitor and manage post-operative patients, including wound care, pain control, mobility assistance, drain/catheter maintenance, respiratory and cardiac function. Respond appropriately to medical emergencies as needed. Provide care and support for patients undergoing medical detox, including vital signs monitoring, withdrawal assessments, and symptom management. Administers medications and treatments as prescribed and in accordance with hospital policies. Educate patients and their families about procedures, post-operative care, detox support, discharge planning, and overall health maintenance. Communicate effectively with physicians, therapists, case managers, and all other healthcare professionals in the interdisciplinary team. Accurately document patient care, assessments, interventions and all other appropriate information in accordance with hospital policies in the electronic health record (EHR). Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and hospital policies. Maintains a working knowledge and thorough understanding of all equipment and utilities and provides knowledgeable guidance and evaluation of the environment of care management including life safety (fire prevention), security, hazardous materials and waste management, emergency preparedness, infection control, and the safe use of medical equipment and utilities. Must work within scope of practice. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education & Training: Associate's degree in nursing required Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred Experience: 1-2 years of acute care experience as a Registered Nurse required Experience in Med/Surg, Spine, Ortho, ENT, or Medical Detox preferred Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current RN license in the state of Texas BLS ACLS PALS Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license as employees may occasionally be required to operate a company vehicle.
