The pharmacist resolves and appeals prior authorization denials for specialty prescriptions and provides telephonic medication counseling to patients. They also monitor drug therapies and maintain collaborative relationships with healthcare providers to ensure timely therapy initiation.
Candidates must hold a bachelor of science degree in pharmacy and possess a current registered pharmacist and controlled substance license from the Michigan State Board of Pharmacy. Advanced training in a specialty clinical area is preferred.
