The role involves managing post-operative and critically ill patients within the hospital and evaluating patients in an office setting. The practitioner will apply specialized knowledge in CVOR, ICU, CCU, and CVICU areas to ensure excellence in patient care.
Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Nursing or graduate from an accredited Physician Assistants program. A current Georgia state license for Advanced Practice Nursing or as a Physician Assistant is required.
Overview Piedmont Healthcare is recruiting for an advanced practice provider to join a well established Neurosurgical practice at Piedmont Atlanta.
· Assist with hospital rounds, and surgical support. · Take patient histories, conduct physical examinations and record data in patient’s medical record in ambulatory practice. Clinical responsibilities require thorough attention to detail. · Evaluate and treat patients to achieve optimal patient care. · Write progress notes; prepare patient work-ups and summaries noting pertinent positive and negative findings. · Develop plans of care that minimize complications and successfully troubleshoot problems when they arise. · Apply preventative and alternative treatment strategies for possible procedural complications. · Complete pre-op appointments for all surgical patients, work with supervising physician to ensure all required labs, clearances and testing is satisfactorily complete well before surgery.
Preferred Qualifications: 3-5 years of Neurosurgical experience with a high degree of clinical judgment
