The technologist will prepare for and assist the Radiologist during intricate mammography examinations, including breast biopsies, while producing high-quality films for evaluation. Key duties also involve effectively communicating procedures to patients and educating women on preventative breast health.
Candidates must possess current ARRT certification in Mammography or be eligible to take the advanced exam with documented clinical experience, along with completion of a two-year approved School of Radiologic Technology. A Virginia radiography license is required, and experience with diagnostic procedures like ultrasound and stereotactic biopsies is preferred.
