Duties include scrubbing cases along with assisting, pulling cases for next day surgeries or add-ons, setting up OR rooms for surgery, cleaning the room after surgery, putting instrument trays together, helping wash instruments

Bonne Terre is a Rural Emergency Hospital providing emergency services and outpatient services including medical observation, lab, radiology, and sleep study. ·The Surgical Services Department provides pre-op and post-op inpatient care to those patients undergoing specialty surgical procedures in the areas of abdominal solid organ transplant, vascular surgery, hepatobiliary, trauma, ear-nose and throat, and orthopedic procedures.
Role Purpose Performs surgical duties for operating room procedures under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.
Prepares operating room for surgical patient, reviews preference cards to determine surgeon needs, obtains the necessary supplies and equipment for the procedure, ensures cleanliness of room, and assists with opening sterile supplies. Performs surgical scrub duties, and assists with the collection, identification, and disposition of cultures and specimens. Assists in turning over of room, and ensures supplies, instruments, and equipment are returned to proper location.
