• Unit Overview The Interventional Radiology (IR) unit at GW Hospital is a specialized area where patients receive minimally invasive, image-guided procedures for a variety of complex conditions.
• The IR team works in a technologically advanced, fast-paced environment, providing high-quality care and collaborating closely with physicians, technologists, and nurses to ensure excellent patient outcomes.
• Job Summary Our Interventional Radiology (IR) nurses provide specialized care for patients undergoing minimally invasive, image-guided procedures in a dynamic, collaborative setting.
• As an IR RN, you will support patients before, during, and after procedures, assist physicians with interventions, and ensure patient safety in a high-acuity environment focused on teamwork, innovation, and continuous learning.
• Main Tasks Prepare and monitor patients for IR procedures Administer moderate sedation and medications as needed Assist physicians during image-guided interventions Monitor patient status and document care throughout procedures Provide pre- and post-procedure education and support Collaborate with radiologists, technologists, and other team members Respond to emergencies and participate in resuscitation efforts

Qualifications

Required

• Current DC RN license (or eligible to obtain) BLS and ACLS (AHA-certified) Minimum 1 year critical care, emergency, or
• IR nursing experience
