Working collaboratively with primary care providers, regional oncologists, infusion services, and local care teams, the Oncology Nurse Practitioner serves as a trusted clinical partner for patients across the continuum of care — from the uncertainty of a new diagnosis, through active treatment, survivorship, recurrence, and long-term follow-up. Patients may first meet the Oncology NP while awaiting specialty oncology appointments, where the NP helps coordinate diagnostics, education, symptom support, referrals, and the next steps in care. From there, the NP remains an ongoing clinical presence and advocate, helping patients navigate treatment plans locally while serving as an important set of eyes and ears between oncology visits. This role blends clinical care, survivorship management, patient navigation, care coordination, and program development in a highly collaborative environment. The Oncology NP will help patients access chemotherapy, laboratory, imaging, rehabilitation, behavioral health, and supportive care services close to home whenever possible, while building strong, trusted relationships with regional oncology specialists and cancer centers.
