About the role

Triage patients and formulate treatment plans while performing clinical procedures such as injections and splint applications. Responsible for ordering diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and completing patient dictation within 48 hours.

OrthoNY is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our team of orthopedic specialists. This full time position, working 10 hour shifts, offers a unique opportunity to work in our Injury Clinic, allowing you to gain extensive experience and develop your skills in a variety of environments.

  • General Description
  • Triage new, follow up and emergency patients, formulate treatment plans based on diagnosis and confer with supervising physician as needed, do pre-procedure H&Ps and complete dictation for file;
  • Order and review diagnostic tests (i.e., labs, X-rays);
  • Order, prescribe, dispense, and administer medication, orthotics and other as applicable;
  • Perform procedures such as injections, aspirations, case/splint applications and removals;
  • Answer patient questions regarding post-op care, medications, and support staff questions to work as a team;
  • Completion of all dictation within 48 hours of seeing a patient in the office setting.
  • Carry out other duties and responsibilities as needed/assigned

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree with state licensure required;
  • 1 to 3 years of experience required;
  • Orthopedic experience required;
  • Proficiency with computers and computer systems, specifically electronic medical records systems, is required;
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Other Information
  • This position requires periodic travel to and between practice locations and related companies, as needed and required.

Requirements

Requires an advanced degree with state licensure and 1 to 3 years of experience specifically in orthopedics. Proficiency in electronic medical records systems and excellent communication skills are mandatory.
