The RN is responsible for diagnosing and treating human responses to health problems through assessment, planning, and implementation of nursing care. They coordinate care activities with multidisciplinary teams and manage emergency situations within the Emergency Department.
Under general supervision and in collaboration with other members of the health care team, uses clinical judgment skills to diagnose and treat human responses to actual or potential health problems. Assessment: standard of performance: Performs accurate multi-system assessments, including; biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, education needs and discharge planning needs. Previous health care experience. Bachelors degree in nursing or related field. CEN preferred. TNCC preferred. Demonstrated ability to recognize and interpret cardiac dysrhythmias preferred. A desire and ability to function within the nursing process preferred. A desire and ability to function within professional and personnel standards as defined. Ability to use and apply effective communication and interpersonal relationship skills preferred.
Requires a graduate degree from an accredited nursing program, an Oregon RN license, and at least nine months of RN experience including one year of ED experience. Mandatory certifications include BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale, with pediatric certifications required shortly after hire.
