Must be a Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Virginia with current BLS certification. Experience in reproductive health or ambulatory surgical centers and bilingual skills in English/Spanish are preferred.
The Virginia League for Planned Parenthood is seeking a Part-Time Registered Nurse to join the team at our Hamilton Health Center in Richmond!
Registered Nurses at VLPP provide nursing expertise before, during and after abortion care in compliance with VLPP medical protocols once appropriate training and privileges are obtained. This may include patient triage, obtaining history and vital signs, abortion education, obtaining relevant laboratory testing, ultrasound and reviewing consent forms with a patient. Registered Nurses are also responsible for starting IVs, performing pre-sedation assessments and recovery room nursing care including reviewing post-procedure instructions with patients. Nurses may also provide support to patients calling with concerns after their care at VLPP through the Clinical Consultation Line on days in which direct patient care is not required on an as needed basis.
Education / Certification Requirements: Current State of Virginia Registered Nurse; current BLS certification
Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred; Previous experience in reproductive health care, abortion care, and/or ambulatory surgical centers are preferred.
Starts at $40.06/hr. Bilingual candidates are eligible for a $1/hr increase with the completion of a successful 3rd party language assessment.
