The Community Health Nurse provides therapeutic and preventive nursing care to Tribal members, focusing on chronic disease control and home-based assessments. They coordinate with health agencies and provide guidance to Community Health Aides to address community health needs.
Candidates must be a Registered Nurse with a BSN, a valid Oregon Board of Nursing license, and at least 3 years of community and home-based nursing experience. Additional requirements include a valid driver's license, First Aid/CPR certification, and a Food Handler's card.
The Community Health Nurse promotes good health practices, coordinates existing health resources, and provides direct health care services to Tribal members in the CTCLUSI service delivery area.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: Must be 25 years of age or older per our vehicle use policy. Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to be insured to drive Tribal Government vehicles. Registered nurse with BSN Degree and training in Community Health or Public Nursing required. Must possess a current unencumbered Oregon Board of Nursing license and be eligible for renewal. 3 years’ experience providing services both in the community and within the patients’ home. Possession of a valid Food Handler’s card is required within 90 days of hire. Ongoing recertification must be maintained in accordance with regulatory requirements. First Aid and CPR certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire, or as soon as training becomes available if not offered within that timeframe. Recertification must be maintained as required. Advanced experience and proficiency in the use of Microsoft products (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc). Must be highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of managing complex projects while independently fulfilling all job responsibilities with minimal supervision. Ability to present in a public forum (online and in-person) to large and small groups of people. This position is designated as safety-sensitive and is subject to pre-employment and other authorized drug and alcohol testing in accordance with company policy. Please note that the use of marijuana is prohibited for employees in this position, regardless of state legalization status. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, verbally, in writing or by other acceptable means. Must have employment eligibility in the U.S. Indian preference will be observed in the hiring process.
