Provide direct patient care including diagnosis, treatment, and the performance of minor outpatient surgeries. Collaborate within a patient-centered medical home (PCMH) team to ensure coordinated and comprehensive quality care.
Must be a graduate of an approved school of medicine with a completed internship and residency program, eligible for board certification. Requires extensive knowledge of medical developments and the ability to maintain professional relationships with patients and staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include, but are not limited to, the following) Elicits and records information about patient's medical history utilizing the established electronic medical record software system Orders, oversees and interprets various tests, analyses and diagnostic images Makes diagnosis and prescribes care, treatment, and medications for patient condition Performs specific minor outpatient surgeries and procedures Documents patient charts in a timely and appropriate manner Adheres to all established quality protocols Refers patients to medical specialists or other practitioner for specialized treatment Advises patients concerning diet, hygiene, lifestyle modification and methods for prevention of disease Hospitalizes and treats patients in local hospitals, if required Supervises clinical components at site Assists with medical in-service training for staff Provides back-up coverage for other MedLink sites Serves on appropriate organization committees and teams Participates in community health promotion projects Pursues activities of community involvement to increase awareness of and insure the positive image of MedLink Georgia and the medical center to which (s)he is assigned Attends local medical conferences and meetings Participates in the corporation's Quality Assurance Program and adheres to all established quality protocols Other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Provides consultation, collaboration/supervision and direction to supportive clinical personnel.
