Manage the full patient recruitment lifecycle by reviewing medical records and conducting pre-screening calls to assess eligibility against study protocols. Partner with site coordinators and PIs to maintain recruitment pipelines and execute outreach to referring providers.
Requires 1-3 years of experience in clinical research or healthcare with a strong ability to interpret clinical data and navigate EMR systems. Must be proficient in GCP and HIPAA requirements with experience in patient and provider outreach.
About This Role At Evera Health, we believe the most powerful force in clinical research is connecting the right patient to the right trial at the right time. As a Patient Recruitment Specialist, you sit at the center of that mission.
You'll manage the full recruitment lifecycle across multiple concurrent studies — from targeted chart review and pre-screening through scheduling. This is a role for someone who is organized without being rigid, who understands patient sensitivity, and who can move fast in a protocol-driven environment without cutting corners.
What You'll Do Independently review patient medical records — including problem lists, medication histories, lab results, procedure notes, and imaging reports — to assess eligibility against protocol inclusion/exclusion criteria Interpret clinical data with enough fluency to catch disqualifying findings without coordinator hand-holding: an ABI value, a recent CV event, a CYP3A inhibitor on the med list Conduct telephone pre-screening calls with prospective participants using IRB-approved scripts, translating complex eligibility requirements into clear, appropriate language for patients Partner with site coordinators and PIs to prioritize qualified candidates from EMR worklists and referral sources, and flag chart findings that warrant clinical judgment Manage study-specific recruitment pipelines in Salesforce or equivalent CRM; maintain accurate, real-time enrollment and screen fail tracking Develop and execute outreach to referring providers and specialists — and communicate credibly about the therapeutic area and protocol when they ask questions Contribute to recruitment strategy: screen fail root cause analysis, pipeline projections, and protocol-specific barrier identification Maintain strict compliance with ICH-GCP, IRB requirements, and HIPAA in all patient-facing and records-based activities
Hands-on familiarity with cardiovascular, metabolic, or vascular therapeutic areas — particularly understanding of lipid panels, ABI measurements, or cardiac history documentation Prior experience in a multi-site or embedded site model where you owned chart review independently CCRP or equivalent certification, or active pursuit
Who Thrives Here This is not a role for someone who wants to sit back and wait for referrals to land. Our site network moves fast, our sponsors expect results, and our coordinators depend on a recruitment partner who is proactive, persistent, and precise. If you take pride in running a clean pipeline, feel genuine satisfaction when a patient is enrolled into a study that could change their outcome, and can hold two things at once — urgency and compliance — you'll fit right in.
Why Peak Heart–Axsendo Work across a portfolio of high-impact trials with leading sponsors Hybrid model that balances site integration with flexible remote outreach A team that values operational excellence and gives you the tools to do the job right Real opportunity to grow into broader clinical operations as the network expands
