The Assessor provides direct crisis services by conducting telephone and in-person mental health assessments to determine appropriate dispositions. They are responsible for arranging admissions to inpatient facilities and completing necessary insurance pre-certifications.
The person occupying this position provides direct services to individuals who are experiencing a mental health crisis. This person participates in the delivery of crisis services to those individuals and performs other responsibilities as delegated by senior staff.
Master’s Degree in a Human Services related field from an approved university training program.
Prolonged standing and walking; lifting, turning patients and equipment; repeated bending, squatting and stooping; exposure to infectious agents. Visual acuity is needed to assess color changes, to verify accuracy of written materials, and to administer and accurately prepare medications. Heavy Work - Exerting up to 150 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 75 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 30 pounds of force constantly to move objects. (May be further defined as "with or without assistance.") Must be willing to travel occasionally to conduct classroom presentations, attend recruitment fairs, etc
