The Ophthalmic Assistant provides vision care by preparing patients for examinations and performing initial screenings and diagnostic tests. They also assist physicians during procedures and maintain accurate patient medical records.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of direct patient care experience in an ophthalmic setting. Knowledge of medical terminology and the physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds are also required.
