You will have responsibilities including but not limited to: Meet the medical assessment and treatment needs of each resident Provides safety assessment for withdrawal symptoms or other potentially life-threatening behavior or conditions within 24 hours of admissions Notifies on call physician of immediate crisis Provide peer to peer reviews to managed care companies and other healthcare entities Conclude a medical assessment within 7 days of admission and a full history and physical, when necessary, within 21/45 days of admission Conduct a medical assessment of physical and mental health conditions and medical treatment to stabilize and then enable the resident to manage chronic health and mental health conditions including treatment of physical health conditions that are routine Job Details: Long Island City - Long Island, NY Full Time-Exempt Salary range $171,000 - $211,000 QualificationsREQUIRED EDUCATION Successful completion of an approved nurse practitioner or physician assistant program. Current approval by the joint Board of Medical Examiners and Board of Nursing to perform medical acts. Must be currently licensed as a registered nurse in the state. Because of the nature of responsibilities, it is preferable to have experience in counseling and teaching and have a master's degree. REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS NYS NP License NPI Number Medicaid / Medicare Number DEA / Suboxone Wavier Current certification in CPR, Infection Control and Child Abuse COMPETENCIES (KSAs) Ethical Practices Judgment Relationship Management Time Management Empathy Professional Boundaries Global and Cultural Awareness Critical Evaluation Problem Solving Decision Making Communication Teamwork Crisis Management Technical Capacity REQUIRED EXPERIENCE Qualified by training, education, and experience in providing medical care and assessment, in collaboration with a physician, to chemically addicted residents and residents withdrawing from alcohol and or drugs Three Years related experience WORK ENVIRONMENT This job operates in an indoor medical clinical environment. This role also routinely meets patients who may have contagious illnesses. Appropriate PPE will be provided and required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this position. Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to type, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. Frequently required to sit, stoop, kneel or crouch and lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

Requirements

Must be a licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in New York State with a valid DEA and NPI number. Requires three years of related experience in treating chemically addicted residents and current CPR and Infection Control certifications.
