The Scheduling Coordinator performs clerical and support duties for the Surgical Services department. This includes coordinating scheduling requests from physicians and other hospital departments and preparing required reports.
Candidates should be high school graduates or GED holders with a preference for two years of clinical scheduling experience. Proficiency in computer systems, specifically Microsoft Office and Paragon, as well as knowledge of medical and surgical terminology, is required.
Under the general supervision of the Surgical Services Manager, the Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for performing clerical and support duties for the department. The Scheduling Coordinator is also responsible for the coordination of scheduling requests from physicians and other hospital departments. The Coordinator prepares reports as required by the Director.
MINIMUM EDUCATION: High school graduate or GED; relevant experience in lieu of High School Diploma/GED education will be considered. MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE: Minimum two years experience of clinical scheduling preferred. Must have experience with computer systems. Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES: Use of Paragon and other computer programs, knowledge of medical terminology, knowledge of surgical procedure terminology, and has the ability to utilize good communication skills in order to work well with physicians, staff, and customers. Successful completion of the hospital's OakBend Managing Codes Program and any other hospital or department specific training courses.
