The Patient Care Technician supports nursing staff by monitoring vital signs and assisting with personal hygiene and grooming. They are responsible for maintaining a clean patient environment and providing emotional support to patients and families.
As a Patient Care Tech in our Emergency Room Department at UAB Medical West, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our patients. Under the supervision of the RN or LPN, the Patient Care Technician (PCT) performs various duties to support the treatment and care of patients according to established methods and procedures. The PCT takes and records vital signs, assists with personal hygiene, changes bed linens, and completes other tasks as assigned to promote the basic comfort and personal care of the patient. Your attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure will be essential in ensuring that our patients receive the best possible care.
7a - 7p (dayshift) or 7p-7a (nightshift)
Candidates must have a high school diploma and BLS certification, with the ability to lift and move patients. Preferred qualifications include CNA program completion and experience with electronic medical records.
