The pharmacist ensures the safety and effectiveness of drug use for diverse patient groups through the monitoring and verification of medication orders. Responsibilities include resolving drug therapy problems and counseling patients on the safe use of medications.
Requires a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and current licensure with the Virginia State Board of Pharmacy. A Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) and at least one year of similar practice experience are preferred.
