The Surgical Assistant/Scrub Technician assists the physician during surgical procedures and manages surgical instruments. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficiency and safety of surgical operations.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and relevant certification or training in surgical technology. A minimum of two years of experience in surgical technology is required, with specific experience as a scrub technician for LPNs.
Contributes to the team by assisting the physician with the performance of surgical procedures and instruments.
Must have current licensure as indicated by profession (LPN must be licensed by State Board of Nursing).
Minimum of two(2) years training in surgical technology from a comparable medical institution. LPNs must have one (1) years' experience as a scrub technician. Or, a graduate of an accredited program in Surgical Technology may substitute for experience.
Proficient Knowledge of duties and responsibilities of a surgical technician. The ability to communicate with co-workers in a professional manner. The ability to learn advanced procedures, instruments, and techniques.
Education: N/A
Certification in Surgical Technology.
One (1) year experience as a Certified Surgical Technician. Five (5) years of work experience as Surgical Technician.
