DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.) Obtain complete medical history and physical data on patients. Review patient records. Interpret and integrate data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures needed. Perform a complete and/or focused physical exam and record findings. Establish presumptive diagnosis if needed. Order appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures. Synthesize data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan utilizing principles of prevention. Administer injections, immunizations and/or oral medications. Suture wounds. Prepare written prescription orders for drugs and controlled substances. Interview and advise patients regarding health and illness prevention. Recommend community resources to meet patient and family needs. Instruct patient and family regarding medication and treatment instructions. Provide patient education. Assist physicians by recording patient progress notes, issuing diagnostic orders and transcribing orders. Triage patient telephone calls and provide consultation. Perform independent evaluations and treatment procedures in emergency situations. Provide monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits. Perform skin shave and punch biopsies. Perform Cryotherapy. Diagnose and treat a variety of skin, hair and nail conditions. Perform intralesional injections. Perform surgeries to remove skin cancers, cysts and other skin lesions. Perform related work as required.
