Position Summary

Prepares, processes, cuts and stains histology sections to be diagnosed by a Pathologist or investigator.

Duties & Responsibilities

Prepares histology sections by processing tissue and embedding, cutting, and staining prepared sections. Performs special techniques such as immunohistochemical techniques and stains and cutting of frozen tissue. Prepares and changes solutions and reagents. Performs general maintenance of laboratory equipment. Maintains supply and chemical inventories. Cleans and prepares staining set and conducts quality control. Performs record keeping and clerical support functions. Assists supervisor with other duties and special projects as needed. Preferred Qualifications

Equivalent of two years college education in biology, chemistry, clinical laboratory science or medical laboratory technology. HT(ASCP) or HTL(ASCP) certification.
