Requirements summary

How you make a difference Plans and administers medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability following injury, illness, or surgery. Develops and implements rehabilitation programs consistent with the physician’s plan of treatment and revises plans as patient needs change. Collaborates with physicians and clinical team members to obtain patient information and coordinate effective care. Instructs, motivates, and assists patients with both manual and non-manual therapeutic exercises. Maintains accurate documentation, including daily progress notes and correspondence with providers, and educates patients and referring providers on the established plan of care.
