Under general supervision of a Physician the Physician Assistant provides high quality patient care consistent with his/her training and expertise.
3+ Years of hands on primary care clinical experience is required (experience excludes clinical rotations/clerkships) will consider candidates who have completed a residency hands-on training program of 12 or more month’s duration.
PA examines patients and performs routine physical examinations. Administers and orders requires tests. Uses NextGen to maintain patient medical records. Performs routine procedures such as injections, immunizations, wound care and managing of infections. Develops relationship with patients to implement patient management plans. Communicates effectively with patients to provide quality care. Participates in quality management activities as assigned by the Medical Director or Quality Assurance Director. Demonstrates initiative and responsibility with quality management activities. Participates in the direction and development of health care services provided by Marin Community Clinics as a member of the primary health care team. Additional duties assigned based on specific specialty.
Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program. Valid and unrestricted California License issued by the Physician Assistant Board. Current registration issued by the DEA allowing the prescription of drugs. One year of experience preferred. Current BLS certification. Experience with NextGen EMR software a plus. Proficiency in medical Spanish is highly desirable. Excellent interpersonal skills. Prior experience in Community Health desired. Ability to work in fast paced health clinic environment. Ability and willingness to work independently and in team environment. High attention to detail. Required Skills and Abilities: Computer skills required. Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills highly desired. Excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Sensitive to the needs and situations of a multi-cultural population from a variety of income levels.
