The Admixture Technician is responsible for compounding and admixing medications accurately under physician supervision while adhering to OSHA and department guidelines. They also manage pharmacy inventory, maintain temperature logs, and ensure the sanitation of the admix area.
Candidates must have a high school diploma and three to five years of pharmacy experience with specific IV skills. IV certification and a Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate are highly recommended.
High School diploma or equivalent. Minimum three to five years experience in a pharmacy with I.V. skills. I.V. certification preferred. Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate or State Pharmacy Board requirement recommended. Physical & Work Environment Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs Manual dexterity and visual acuity required for patient care tasks Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, and medical preparations common to oncology clinics In-person interaction with patients, physicians, and clinical staff is essential
