Performs specimen collection, processing, and EKG procedures under the direction of the Laboratory Manager. Responsible for clerical functions, waived testing, and maintaining quality control standards.
FT, 80 hrs/pp, 1.0 FTE (2 Positions) ; varies as scheduled.
Under the general direction of Laboratory Manager, performs clerical functions, specimen collection, specimen processing, and EKG procedures. Lab Assistant II performs the duties of a Phlebotomists and performs waived testing and Quality Control.
High school diploma/GED required.
Completion of a phlebotomy course or an accredited medical assistant course; or
6 months laboratory experience and certification as a Health Care Assistant.
Training in proper phlebotomy techniques required.
Training and/or experience in clinical laboratory preferred.
Requires Washington State DOH Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist credential within 6 months of hire.
Certification in phlebotomy skills preferred
