Psychiatrist - Veterans Disability Evaluations

Working within a multidisciplinary clinical team, the Psychiatrist provides independent mental health evaluations while contributing to coordinated, high-quality patient assessment workflows.

This position is best suited for psychiatrists who value structured clinical practice, focused clinical evaluations, and clear documentation standards without ongoing treatment management responsibilities.Key ResponsibilitiesTravel to established international clinical sites supporting Veteran evaluation servicesConduct comprehensive adult psychiatric evaluations through clinical interviews, observations, standardized assessments, and medical history reviewAssess, diagnose, or rule out psychiatric conditions using current DSM criteria while documenting findings through structured disability evaluation processesComplete detailed clinical documentation, Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs), and case submissions within established quality and turnaround expectationsCollaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support coordinated evaluation workflows and continuity of assessment servicesMaintain accurate medical records and uphold clinical quality, patient confidentiality, and professional practice standards within an established healthcare environmentQualificationsRequirementsMD or DO from an accredited institution requiredCurrent unrestricted Psychiatry license in the U.S., U.S.

Territory, or Canada requiredBoard certified or board eligible in Psychiatry requiredCurrent American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification required2+ years of full-time experience practicing as a Psychiatrist requiredExperience providing adult psychiatry evaluations and applying current DSM criteria requiredValid U.S.
