Coordinates and provides critical care for cardiac patients undergoing interventional procedures. Responsibilities include assisting physicians during diagnostics and implantations while managing the overall plan of care.
Requires a graduate degree from an accredited nursing program and a valid RN license. A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Cath Lab unit and BLS certification are required.
The Cath Lab-RN coordinates and provides care utilizing the critical thinking framework known as the nursing process for cardiac patients through interventional procedures. The nursing process forms the foundation of the nurse's decision making to help partner with patients/families to attain, maintain and restore health whenever possible. Blends caring, compassion, knowledge and integrity to provide safe quality care that preserves patient autonomy, dignity and rights.
