About the role

The technician is responsible for processing tissues using microwave rapid processors and performing manual and automated embedding. Key duties include microtomy of paraffin embedded tissue blocks and performing special stains and cryotomy of skin specimens.

Hourly Pay Range

$28.47 - $42.71 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

What you will do

  • Processing tissues using Xpress microwave rapid tissue processor
  • Embedding: Manual and Automated using Sakura Auto TEK embedder
  • Microtomy of paraffin embedded tissue blocks both manual and auto embedded
  • Recuts of tissue blocks
  • Special Stains
  • IF cryotomy of skin specimens

What you will need

Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Laboratory Science and Histology routine training or Completed accredited Histology Technology program.

Certification: HT/HTL Certificate (ASCP), equivalent or eligible.

Experience: 1 year experience in Histology Laboratory preferred
