Perform clerical tasks to archive, track, and file anatomic pathology materials including glass slides and paraffin blocks. Coordinate the return of materials to originating institutions and handle departmental mail distribution.
Must be a currently enrolled student at the University of Washington meeting minimum credit requirements. Requires a minimum of 6 months of clerical work experience.
The DEPARTMENT OF PATHOLOGY has an outstanding opportunity for a STUDENT ASSISTANT. The STUDENT ASSISTANT will work 19.5 hours per week when school is in session, and 40 hours per week during school breaks, for up to one year or until the hourly position limit is reached. The STUDENT ASSISTANT will perform a variety of clerical tasks relating to Anatomic Pathology. This position requires the ability to be meticulous and possess excellent attention to detail. Under general supervision, perform routine workflows to archive pathology materials for off-site storage and to return outside pathology materials to their originating institution. Sort, track, and file pathology materials in the slide room. As requested, perform mail runs and other routine slide room workflows such as filling requests for pathology materials, tracking materials for incoming or outgoing courier transport. As requested, assist with special projects in the slide room.
