Perform routine patient care and clinical activities under the direction of licensed professional nurses and interdisciplinary teams. Responsibilities include maintaining a safe patient environment and providing hands-on personal care across various settings such as clinics, home health, or hospice.
Must be a Certified Nurse Aide licensed by the Department of Health Professions of Virginia and hold an AHA BLS CPR certification. Depending on the specific unit, one year of acute care, cardiology, or home health experience and a valid driver's license may be required.
The Certified Nursing Aide (CNA) functions under the direction of a licensed professional nurse (nurse). Under the supervision of the nurse, CNAs perform care appropriate to the patient population served and meet daily routine patient care needs. The CNA performs their duties based on the unit care delivery model. This role collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to deliver care as outlined by the nurse.
