• EDUCATION Graduate from accredited school of nursing Required. BSN Preferred EXPERIENCE Minimum one year clinical acute psychiatric experience Required. Two years Preferred. LICENSURES AND CERTIFICATIONS Registered Nurse - State Licensure - RN Required Basic Life Support Certification - BLS Required SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Demonstrates working knowledge of patient care techniques, medications, treatments and general health care procedures. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in fast-paced environment with changing priorities. Ability to:
• provide basic patient care to a diverse patient population
• read/interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations
• write legibly and effectively present ideas, document activities
• demonstrate leadership abilities
• deal with problems involving several variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. DEPARTMENT-SPECIFIC SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE Completion of a hospital approved course on the management of assaultive behavior within three months of employment with an annual recertification. Completion of a mental health services approved training program on suicide assessment within one month of employment with an annual recertification. Pay Range is $79.67 to $107.79 / hour The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled.
