The Triage Nurse is responsible for assessing patient conditions via telephone to determine urgency and prioritize care. They also handle medication refills, coordinate tests, and act as a liaison between physicians and patients.
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited nursing school with a valid Illinois RN or LPN license and BLS certification. At least one year of nursing experience is required, with Athena EMR and OB/GYN experience preferred.
Overview EFFINGHAM OBSTETRICS & GYNECOLOGY ASSOCIATES, a practice partner of Together Women's Health, is seeking a full-time Triage Nurse (RN or LPN) to join their growing team! As an experienced practitioner, the Triage Nurse is responsible for assessing patients, determining the severity of patients conditions, and prioritizing care based on the urgency of symptoms. Applicants with Athena EMR experience will be given priority.
Performs telephone triage, patient education, handling of physician phone calls, pharmacy calls; may assist by calling to set up appointments or arrange hospital tests or admissions Completes paperwork such as refilling medication, ordering lab tests, x-rays, school/work notes, FMLA, etc. Assessing patients and determining priority and referring for emergency care Counsels’ patients concerning lifestyle modifications, medication regimens, side effects, and interactions using an appropriate psychosocial communication level Communicates to patients and office coordinators follow-up appointments, ancillary and/or pre-operative testing and scheduling needed for patient Coordinates ordering of tests/procedures with other clinical staff Respond to patient questions and concerns as liaison between physician and patient Developing office protocols and training documents Reports all test results to the patient as directed by the physician
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required State of Illinois RN or LPN License required BLS certification required At least one year of working experience as a nurse required Athena EMR experience highly preferred OB/GYN experience preferred, but not required Why Together Women’s Health (TWH)?
