We’re Looking For

Degree, Licensure or Certifications

B.A./B.S. or equivalent religious education based on faith group requirements.

1 unit of CPE accredited by ACPE.

Eligible for faith group endorsement

As a Chaplain you will

Provide comprehensive holistic spiritual care to patients, families, and healthcare staff, including counseling, crisis response, and sacramental support.

Assist during emergencies, guides families through illness and end‑of‑life processes and promote patient safety.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, participate in care planning, education, and ethical discussions, and supports staff through consultations and training.

Contributes to departmental operations, mentoring, and community outreach while upholding organizational values and maintaining active involvement in their faith community.

Advocate Trinity Hospital, part of Advocate Southland Health Network, has provided residents in southeast Chicago with outstanding clinical outcomes and compassionate care for more than 120 years. Advocate Trinity treats more than 90,000 patients each year, giving them access to more than 300 physicians with expertise in more than 50 specialties. This includes advanced heart attack care, primary stroke care center, oncology center and an array of surgical specialties not found in most community hospitals.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • May be exposed to blood and body fluids; therefore, personal protective equipment must be worn as necessary.
  • Availability and transportation to serve on-call rotation as needed.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and bend throughout the workday.
  • Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
  • Must be able to participate in overnight and weekend on-call rotation per the department schedule, including moving between care sites as needed.
