The Histology Technologist performs technical procedures including the preparation, processing, embedding, cutting, and staining of tissue specimens for microscopic examination. They ensure the accuracy and quality of histologic preparations while adhering to laboratory protocols and safety guidelines.
Requires completion of an accredited Histology program or an Associate Degree in a science-related field. A Histotechnician (HT) certification from ASCP is required, and 1-2 years of laboratory experience is preferred.
This is a Full-Time Position.
The Histology Technologist is responsible for performing all technical procedures in the histology laboratory, including the preparation, processing, embedding, cutting, and staining of tissue specimens for microscopic examination by a pathologist. This role ensures the accuracy and quality of all histologic preparations and adheres to established laboratory protocols, regulatory guidelines, and safety procedures. The Histology Technologist plays a critical role in diagnostic accuracy and patient care by producing high-quality slides for pathologic interpretation.
