Eastern Shawnee Staffing Services is seeking experienced Nocturnist Physicians (MD/DO) to support the inpatient medicine team at Chinle Comprehensive Health Care Facility in Chinle, Arizona. This long-term locum opportunity allows you to care for a diverse patient population while serving one of the nation's largest Native American communities in a mission-driven healthcare environment.

Competitive compensation Flexible scheduling options Long-term assignment stability Opportunity to serve within the Indian Health Service (IHS) system Mission-driven and collaborative practice environment Meaningful work serving Native American communities Unique clinical experience in a rural healthcare setting What You'll Do Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care for hospitalized patients during overnight shifts Perform admissions, evaluations, consultations, and daily management of acute and chronic medical conditions Assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for adult inpatients Respond to overnight clinical changes and medical emergencies Coordinate care with nursing staff, specialists, emergency department providers, and ancillary services Order, interpret, and act upon laboratory, imaging, and diagnostic testing results Participate in patient discharge planning and transitions of care Maintain accurate, timely, and complete medical documentation within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) Ensure compliance with facility policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements Communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams

Requirements

Strong clinical, diagnostic, and decision-making skills Ability to work in high-stress, fast-paced environments Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems Commitment to continuous learning and professional development Must be a U.S. citizen residing primarily in the United States

Qualifications

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Active, unrestricted U.S. medical license Current DEA registration Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required Minimum of 2–3 years of recent inpatient Hospitalist experience required Previous Nocturnist experience strongly preferred Experience managing adult and pediatric inpatient populations independently Strong clinical judgment and ability to manage high-acuity patients Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems Previous Indian Health Service (IHS), Tribal Health, Rural Health, or Critical Access Hospital experience preferred Must be a U.S. citizen living and working primarily within the United States Must be able to obtain and maintain Federal Security Clearance Immunization records required
