The Medical Technologist is responsible for obtaining patient specimens and performing established clinical tests and procedures. They must also interpret test results and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
Under the supervision of the Clinical Laboratory Manager, obtains specimens from patients and performs established clinical tests and procedures. Interprets test results, and performs instrument and equipment maintenance.
Requirements: Job qualifications:
A.
Bachelor Degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory science, or Associate Degree with licensure in Medical Laboratory Technology.
Ability to calculate test results accurately, and must have the ability to communicate effectively.
Licensure as a Medical Technologist or MLT, registered with ASCP, AMT, ISLCT or HEW.

Duties of the position require moderate periods of sitting, standing and walking. Bending, stooping, pulling, reaching with arms, feeling with hands and fingers is required. Lifting up to 30 pounds when moving supplies or equipment may be required. Vision requirements include close, distance, and the ability to adjust focus in order to read and interpret instructions, labeling and to conduct tests. Must be able to hear alarms on equipment, instructions from physicians, staff, patients, and visitors. Duties include exposure to patient elements. The work environment noise level is moderate.
